Acne is inflammation of the skin, due to blockage of skin’s pores. Blockage occurs due to excessive secretion from the skin’s oil glands and accumulated dead skin cells. This encourages the skin bacterium Propionibacterium which multiplies and causes increased skin inflammation. Acne occurs due to various reasons- it may be because of improper diet, drinking less water and many other reasons. Acne word generates from the Greek word acme which is skin eruption. Home Remedies to Treat Acne
Apple cider vinegar-
It is a powerhouse when it is acting as an acne remedy. It kills off the bacteria that may be causing all the trouble. It also becomes alkaline and balances the ph of the skin which makes it harder for bacteria to thrive.
Milk and honey-
Milk can improve the outbreaks and skin tone. This mixture just soothes the irritated skin and helps tone down the redness.
It is an easy and affordable way to help reduce acne and fade scars left by unfortunate blemishes. The reason people have found egg whites to be helpful for their skin is because they’re clock full of proteins and vitamins that both combat acne and help to rebuild your skin cells. They also soak up excess oil which means excess sebum and less stuff for bacteria to feed on.
It is sodium bicarbonate and works as a gentle exfoliate for your skin. Thus, it plugs the pores and removes dead skin. It also helps to regulate the ph balance of the skin and has mild anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. All these characteristics make it an excellent home remedy for clearing acne.
It is beneficial in reducing acne because it cleanses the skin pores and absorbs excess oil. Plus, it exfoliates the skin.
It has acidic property which can be very useful in treating acne. Lemon will clean out dirt that has accumulated in the pores and will harden the sebum. We can use lemon daily but if it is too drying then use it every two or three days.
Aloe vera gel-
It has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It can treat acne in a matter of a few days. Aloe vera gel is also helpful in healing the scars caused by acne. It should be applied on the affected area gently.
The toothpaste that we use regularly to clean our teeth can also help clear up an acne problem. This is in fact one of the easiest home remedies for acne. We can apply a small amount of white toothpaste on the affected area before going to bed. The toothpaste will reduce the swelling and dry out the acne. Within a day or two, we can see significant improvement.
The acidic property and high vitamin C present in an orange makes it a perfect remedy for acne. We can use the juice from the orange as well as its peel but the peel can be more effective.
It also known as Neem. It can be used for the treatment of various skin problems. It contains antiseptic and antimicrobial properties that help to kill the bacteria that cause acne. It soothes the redness and inflammation of skin breakouts. We can choose the simple process- firstly make a paste of tender Indian lilac leaves by adding a little water. Add some turmeric powder to the paste and then apply to the affected area. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off. Do this at least twice a week.
It can also be used in the treatment of acne due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antiseptic properties. Mix fresh fenugreek leaves with water to make a smooth paste. Apply the herbal paste on the affected area and leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then wash your face with warm water. Repeat the process for three to four days to allow the acne to heal.

Tea tree oil-
Another popular natural treatment for acne is tea tree oil. Tea tree oil acts like an antiseptic and disinfects the pores. In addition, it helps to kill the bacteria that cause acne. Just apply one drop of tree tea oil to the affected area three times a day. If the application of undiluted tea tree oil causes skin irritation, redness or overdriving then use tea tree oil diluted in water or mix it with aloe vera gel and then apply.
Papaya for the pimple prone-
It is an essential ingredient in a lot of beauty products in the market today, but there is no need to go out of your way to gain benefits. Plain raw papaya is an all-natural acne remedy that removes dead skin cells and excess lipids from the surface of the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Lipids are a general term for fats, of which oil is formed. Papaya also contains an enzyme called papain which reduces inflammation and helps prevent the pus from forming.
Mix strawberries and honey-
Honey and strawberries make a home remedy for acne that sounds pretty sweet and it combines two things that are used commonly in pricey, often harsh, facial scrubs and cleansers. Strawberries may seem random but consider the fact that they’re high in salicylic acid. Honey works against bacteria that may be behind your acne and is an anti-inflammatory agent.
